Beach tennis

Like padel, beach tennis is one of those new racquet sports that is gaining popularity around the world.
It is very similar to its tennis counterpart, but also has similarities with padel. We will see how beach tennis skills can greatly help you become a future padel player.

Similarities Between Beach Tennis and Paddle

Plot size: the size is not the same but similar.
The size of the beach tennis court is 8 meters wide and 16 meters long.
The padel court is 10 meters wide and 20 meters long.
It is not difficult for padel players to adapt and feel the boundaries of the court.

The ball is always in the air: This is the main element of this sport.
There is no bouncing off the sand and there cannot be.

Positions: Served from the line like in tennis and then played at the net.
It is played in pairs, similar to beach volleyball.
It's a very fast-paced sport, so players often just try to block the ball.

Candle: in order to change the rhythm during the point, players tend to do plates, which destabilize the volleyball players a bit. Obviously, after the rebound, we do not find a treasure, as in a padel, but only a blocked volley, the trajectory of which rises high. It is more of a subtle ball stroke than a technical stroke with a preparation phase. It's a bit like a padel roll.

Reflexes: there are two things to remember in beach tennis, obviously volleys and reflexes. In fact, players sticking to the net receive a tennis serve from only 8 meters away from the server. Therefore, reflexes are one of the most important skills to have in this sport. To give an example of the comparison of reflexes between these two sports, we can imagine a padel player performing a bajada while his opponents are dribbling the net. Reflexes will therefore be tested to block the ball. In addition to reflexes, beach tennis is definitely an even more explosive sport (in terms of match duration) because the exchanges between opponents are faster. Therefore, you will need to use your reflexes and explosiveness to win points!

Conclusions: There are many similarities between the two sports with a wide variety of strokes.
Padel players and tennis players probably won't find it difficult to adapt to BeachTennis game conditions.
There is only one thing that can be a little destabilizing, and that is that there is no bounce of the ball off the ground.
If you don't have a tennis or padel game at the base of the net, it will take some time to get used to the bounce-free shots.
